I admit it. I had never heard of you, two years ago. You, the quaint, quiet fishing beach-town on the East side of the Costa del Sol. And how I wish I had done! You had never appeared in holiday brochures or on the type of TV programme which brings shame on the drunken Brit abroad archetype… no.

It amazes me sometimes how Málaga’s city centre is not celebrated much more in travel blogs and Instagram pages. Especially given how accessible it is, with cheap flights into Málaga’s airport daily and its mild, sunny winters and not too oppressive hot summers.

Frigiliana: Andalucía’s Most Beautiful Village with a Bloody Past

Yes, Frigiliana, situated seven kilometres north of Nerja in the Málaga province with a population of only 3000, was actually voted the ‘prettiest village in Andalucía’ by the Spanish Tourism Board.
